Our Purpose
Text
Wood (Growth, Expansion): "To Foster" aligns with the Wood element. Wood represents the energy of growth and expansion, similar to a tree growing and branching out. Just as wood fuels growth in nature, fostering personal growth aligns with the energy of this element.
Fire (Transformation, Passion): "To Promote" can be related to the Fire element. Fire represents transformation and passion. The act of promoting understanding and respect aligns with this energetic and transformative element.
Earth (Nourishment, Stability): "To Cultivate" associates with the Earth element. Earth symbolizes nourishment, support, and stability, just as the earth in nature supports and cultivates growth.
Metal (Refinement, Judgement): "To Advance" fits with the Metal element. Metal represents the energy of refinement and perfection, akin to the process of forging metal. Advancing martial excellence is a process of continuous refinement and improvement, aligning with the energy of this element.
Water (Wisdom, Flexibility): "To Contribute" can be associated with the Water element. Water symbolizes wisdom, flexibility, and flow. Contributing to health and wellbeing requires a flexible, adaptive approach, much like the flowing nature of water.
QI (the energy that makes the elements reality)
The final Purpose of Cloud Forest Martial Arts is "To Serve". While To Serve can also be contributed with the Earth Element, it can also be seen as the energy of Qi, which exists "to Serve", "to create" and "to support". Qi is the building blocks of all physical reality through the harmonic vibrations that create the animating force we call "life".
What is your story?
Most of us grew up wanting to be a martial artist. We have always held in our minds how honorable the martial warrior is and how they stand their ground against over-powering odds. To hold on to something in this life that has a real honor-code and to believe in something that you don't see in everyday modern culture...these are some of the more powerful reasons why most of us grew up wanting to know martial arts.
Then there are the others, who envy Karate Kid, Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, or Darth Maul...the thing is, at it's core, there is an iconic special place in our hearts. We have fun at our school, and we press the importance of enjoying life, and community. We support each other in our training, uphold ourselves to high standards of partnership, trading back and forth the competitve energies that keep us sharp, but never in danger. So we want to know you and why you are seeking to become one of us.
We all have different lives, different goals, perspectives and beliefs, but that doesn't mean we can't find that special training place that no matter what walk of life we come from, we can meet on neutral ground. Our school is more than neutral, it's a sacred pact we make with each other, that we will hold this place as a temple for training, self improvement, and evolution of the human heart and spirit.

WE ARE CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AS ONLY CLUB MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.

We do not allow bullies to remain members. It doesn't matter what your skill level is, what color skin you have, how many privileges society gives you, who you bow to, who you love, how you identify yourself, or how much money you have...if you are a bully, you will be dismissed and banned.
